Not a city centre location.
Disinterested to the point of rude staff.
Avoid the hotel restaurant for dinner.

I would certainly recommend this hotel. My first impression was that the staff were not particularly friendly but whenever I asked them anything they turned out to be extremely helpful this was also my impression of the local people.

Public transport in Lisbon is excellent. Unless you intend to visit many museums it is more cost effective to buy a travel card from the Metro station instead of a Lisboa Card. The card from the Metro cost Euro 4 for the first 24 hours and then can be topped up for E3.50 per day. This allows you unlimited travel by bus, metro and tram and really is terrific value. After visiting the usual sights in Lisbon it is worthwhile taking the train to (1)Sintra (when you arrive there the person in the information bureau is most helpful and will explain fully about the sightseeing bus and what you should visit),(2) Estoril and (3) Cascais (not necessarily in that order). The cost to each of these places by train is approx E3.30 return.

Hotel is only 5 minutes from local underground station. Our flight was delayed which meant that we did not arrive until 11.30 at night, however staff managed to make us a sandwich and provide us with a cold drink from the bar.
Top Tip
Good fish resturant opposite hotel.
Beware of pickpockets and you will get fed up with the begging and the selling of street goods!
