Lovely art deco 1930's feel about it, large rooms with high ceilings. Attentive and helpful service from parking car on arrival through check in and recommendation for local restaurant. Great central location a short walk from Rossio Square. Lack of milk with the complimentary tea and coffee was the only negative feature.
Top Tip
Solar dos Presuntos was an excellent local Portuguese restaurant busy with non-tourists even on a Monday.

A beautiful unique Boutique Art Deco hotel with spacious rooms and a touch of contemporary quirkiness, within a pleasant walk to the centre of Lisbon. The thing that sets this hotel apart however is the staff. They are exceptional, polite willing, knowledgeable and actually take pride in their work. Breakfast is a wonderful leisurely affair presided over by two friendly and efficient ladies where you never have to ask for anything to be refilled.

Eleven is a fabulous restaurant if you are looking for that something special, it is heavy on the pocket but the food is a delight the staff are attentive but not evasive and the view especially during daylight hours is beautiful.
Bairro Alto & Chiado is defiantly worth a visit by day it is cultural and bohemian with great shopping by night it is lively and vibrant without being over the top if your there before say 11pm. Some great typical Portuguese restaurants like Bota Alta (try to get there before 8pm) otherwise be prepared to que around 20mins its well worth the wait, I would suggest saving coffee for the Café a Brasileira
Belém is essential viewing and tasting (in my opinion) are The Discoveries Monument and the Jeronimos Monastery. Not being a huge fan of custard tarts (pasteis de nata) I was in no rush to visit the infamous pastelaria Antiga Confeitaria de Belem and que! How foolish I was these where so delicious served warm with a sprinkling of cinnamon, one really is not enough so avoid queuing twice and buy at least two per person and maybe another to take back to the hotel!

We were charmed by the courteous staff and the service and facilities at the Britania were excellent. It was ideally placed for exploring Lisbon and a haven of peace after a long day sight seeing. The late breakfasts and the ready availability of tea/refreshments were most appreciated.

Wow what an amazing place, completely made our honeymoon. We stayed here 5 nights and could have stayed 50 more !! Where to start ? The building itself is impressive with a roomy reception and bar area, and impressive decor.
Staff are extremely helpful, courteous and efficient. Thanks to reception staff who told su about the free James Morrison concert in Belem when we checked in, we had a fantastic time in the front row.
The room we had on the first floor was out of this world, lovely bed, furnishings beautiful but not pretentious, well equipped. Honeymoon champagne package prepared by the super courteous Jefferson made us feel like we had just got married (not 8 months ago!). He makes a superb cocktail "Imperial" too and his G&T's are a work of art ! Barbershop is a great feature, ask for the key and they will willingly show you this preserved part of the old hotel. Having breakfast in the dining room is great looking at the old photos of the hotel from years ago. There are masses of books if you fancy a bit of light reading, some guide books too. Location great for metro at Avenida, and my wife loved walking past Louis Vuitton every day...!
Can't wait to go back.... as soon as we can !
